tuxtla guttz.

today we drove all day along the sides of mountains and ended up here. this town is big and noisy and not pretty. one part of the ride was soooooooooo windy our car almost stopped in its tracks.  for a moment we were quite frightened. ne corner was called LA VENTOSA or the windy one and they were NOT kidding.

this pic is one of the nicest we saw as we came into town. the rest have no trees, are old and not well preserved .... quite sad as the architecture is colonial and historical

after walking around some we realized that canyon del sumidero was not too far away , only about 20 miunutes so we went. wow wow wow woooooooooooooooooooooooow

the canyon is gorgeous. we have to go back tomorrow as it was too cloudy to fully appreciate it today. and it is free again tomorrow.

tomorrow we shall also take a boat ride down the river.

we found a neat restaurant with some traditional food that has special spices from here.  very good and like nothing i have ever eaten before.

the pics we take do not do this canyon justice...the view is spectacular and the greenery is moving in its beaty.
